Please give us a short summary of your website?

It is a fashion apparels and fashion accessories wholesale / retail website. We have listings every week and we also have a chatbox where we communicate with our visitors. We hope to extend our business connections and build up our wholesale business.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

There are many customers that came to our shop that ask us why not have a website where they can view our new arrivals (apparels) before they come down, or even make reservations online. Our customers inpired us.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

It was launched in 2007. It was just some basic info about our shop at Vivocity, Singapore. It did not have regular updates on new products. So the website was quite "quiet".

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It has the same name as our shop.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We update every week, so our visitors will see something new everytime they visit our site. We post many pictures of our new arrivals as this is what the customers asked from us.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Hope this will help to build up our overseas business and widen our wholesale business scope.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

we revamp our website this year. It is only few months, but the result is encouraging as more than a thousand visitors visited our website.It is worth the effort.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I will make it more interactive. and instead of emailing us their orders, the customers can process their orders online immediately and check out immediately too.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, we have the resources and stocks available to meet the demand.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Not at the moment.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To keep listing new items regularly so that my customers won't be disappointed and always have new things to see.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I have been advertising in free classified ads, forums and we have printed name cards that we distributed in the shop.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

New Customers are not that forecoming as they are afraid that there may be frauds. We must convince them. It is easier for local customers as they can visit our shop at vivocity and know us before they shop with us online. It is the foreign customers that we have to really convince.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We are seeing results already. The web also serves as a good catalogue for our customers. We will keep it up.

How much business do you intend to get from the website?

We hope a year down the road, the web can generate approximately 25% of our gross sales.
