Please give us a short summary of your website?
Tattoo Supplies and equipment.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I like the concept of "work at home", and I have been doing it for many years.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
1995, and it was a site called the "Museum of Tattoos". It was a collection of pics of tattoos from verious artists. The site became popular, and is still online today.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Did a little keyword and market research.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It is well designed for navigation, uses SSl 128 encryption for ordering, and i will be offering many free goodies there soon. Prices are competitive with other sellers of tattoo equipment on the net.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Keep it for income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Well worth it over the years!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would change the ammount of traffic by dumping that unlimited budget into advertising. I would have to get more bandwith and sql databases to handle the traffic.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Using Google checkout as a payment option. It takes two days for them to process the order. I didnt realize this until i received an order through google checkout. Since I use drop shippers and suppliers, I have to process the order on to them. This delays the order. Paypal works great, is secure, and dont require the buyer to be a member.
