The Take Down Removal system helps ease and prevent the pain,hassle, hair loss, thinning, hair damage, balding and frustration associated with removing all the different hair styles that many African women are wearing-i.e braids, weaves, hair extensions, bonding glue, fusion, dreadlocks, twists, microbraids
What inspired you to launch your own website?
So many Nigerian women as well as black women all over the world are secretly suffering due to the hair damage they have experienced because of improper removal of bonding glue,sew-in weaving, tiny braids, hair extensions, or matted/tangled hair.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
7 years ago and it was Take Down as well
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name was inspired from God
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our sole mission is to maintain and preserve your God given beauty. We exist to save your hair. As long as women, children and (a lot of men now) wear these differnent hairstyles that have to be removed-we offer the #1 solution.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Education is our eventual goal, a lot of Nigerian consumers and hairdressers need to know how and why they can/should save their hair. It is not normal to damage or pull half of your hair out, balding, thinning hair or damage your scalp when removing these hairstyles
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
When one woman or mother of a child sends a testimonial that we have made them happy and are so grateful that they tried Take Down-we know that their testimony will enable other people to feel, see, and hear Gods touch through our tangible help
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Well we have an unlimited development budget now and we are doing so much for so many people with our education seminars we are launching throughout Africa.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Our site has become really well known, so keeping up with the demand is a blessing-because it enables the company to provide more jobs for people. In essence we can continue to be instruments for people to feel the touch of God.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
In business there are always unexpected costs-that is the price of doing business. The only issues we have had to deal with that try to become headaches if you allow them, is hiring good staff. The beauty industry can be challenging at times-some people don't like the ugly side of this industry.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Keeping up with the demand for products.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
listing with other websites and writing articles for the hair industry
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is a lot of work!!!!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
For 7 years now and we have a lifetime of infinity to continue.
How do you contribute to the community?
We partner with programs for empowerment of women and mentoring for entreprenuership seminars. We also support sponsorship programs for education for children.
