What inspired you to launch your own website?
As a veterean stylist dealing with hairloss, and other hair issues, I realized the effect Lace wigs, and other necessary enhancements had on my clients self esteem which also aided in their medical recovery, and over all self satisfaction and confidence. I decided it would be great if I could offer this alternative to others in need.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched in June of this year. Ultimatehaironline.com was the website I launched. We go to great measures to offer an exceptional product with exceptional prices. We cater to the everyday woman of all backgrounds, and are able to accomadate a vast range of requests for hair replacements, whether it be for medical reasons, or beauty enhancments.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Because we only offer the best, I felt the name would be appropriate, since it decribes what we have to offer.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The quality of the product, presentation, customer service, Knowledge of the product, and application, ease of use.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Expansion! we currently have a showroom located in the Tallahassee Mall Florida, and plan to expand to other cities so that we can reach more of our customers providing a knowledgable,caring,and experienced staff.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Time is money, but the time spent helping a client in need is priceless! You must put in work & money into anything you want to see grow, and blossom. If it were easy then everyone would be successful. When your doing something you love, and are passionate about success will follow.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I believe I'm on course regardless of budget. I do things as if it were already so. As a result I'm making plans for the future as if the money is already in place.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. I have patnered with the right resourses to accomodate large orders, and am now making changes to reflect this.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Credit card fraud is an issue, however we have put systems in place to deter this, also when a client does not know what to ask for to get the results they are looking for, the sales staff has to be knowledgable enough to make informed recommendations.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Balance. It is important to know especially if you have a family, how to balance your time so that everyone including yourself feels loved, and cared for.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
So far ad words have been successful, as well as free advertising sites, and other free listings. Word of mouth has also been very powerful as well.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is as time consuming as an actual brick and mortor operation. You have to be able to keep up with updates, inventory, and customer demands much like with an actual store front.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The website has been up since June of 08. I plan to keep our online presence,Not only because it generates income, but because I love doing it!
What advise would you give to someone wanting to start and online business?
First, Make sure you have the support of your immediate loved ones husband/wife/children etc... This is very important to your success, and piece of mind. Also complete your due diligence. Make sure all of your trademarks,copyrights, and licenses are in order as well as your store policies. This will save you alot of headaches. Do what you love. When you are doing something that is fullfilling it can not only feed your wallet, but your soul as well.
