Christa Zoeteman
Your Location (city, etc)
Tucson
Please give us a short summary of your website?
We make custom hair bows and headbands for girls of all ages.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Passion for making hair bows.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is the first website we've launched, and it was started in May of 2007.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
"Britches and Bows Boutique" summarizes everything we would like to sell, and with its alliteration, sounds catchy.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The quality of the hair bows we make set our company apart from the rest. We pride ourselves with symmetrical hair bows that are pleasing to the eye, as well as our ability to help our customers match their special outfits to a custom-designed hair bow. We also offer free shipping to any location in the continental U.S.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our eventual goal is to be the top-selling hair bow company on the Internet and keep it for income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We have the potential to bring in ten-fold in for what we make our bows.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would expand our company and hire stay-at-home moms to help run our business. It would not only provide us with additional help in expanding the success of our company, but it would enable us to provide many stay-at-home mothers with an income that would help support their families.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. We have plenty of room available for expansion, as well as many potential employees lined-up for positions already.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Advertising.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Emails to our customers and word-of-mouth about how wonderful our products are.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has not differed from our expectations.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Our website has been running since May of 2007, and we plan to run it as long as there is a demand for our products.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of your online business?
I have had many customers email me with delight over the bows we send them, and the sheer joy they express in their emails is truly a reward. We sincerely hope that we are able to help make special family get-togethers, special occasions, and holidays even more memorable for our customers by adding the special touch of a custom bow to their little girls' outfits. They truly make the difference.
