What inspired you to launch your own website?
www.YesideFashionStores.trepad.com has been dictated entirely by the need to reach and satisfy our customers all over Nigeria.Nigerian women are very fashionable irrespective of what city they live in and where there is a need there is a way.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is our first website and not being one to blow our trumpet ,maybe we should add that this is one of the first if not the first fashion website in nigeria.we have gone to all this trouble solely for one reason: To satisfy our numerous Fashion Conscious Women in Nigeria
How did you decide on a name for your website?
That was quite simple as i had started the fashion business when i was in the university,and i wanted to take the business a step further by going to the press,actually the Magazine was True Love Magazine West Africa,and when the very nice lady asked me what the name of my company was; i just blurted out Yeside Fashion and it was not long before the Stores was added.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
YesideFashionStores.trepad.com is dedicated to making sure our customers are the ones leading the way when it comes to the lastest trends and doing this at great value for money. We update our website every week with the lastest key trends.We also stock Limited Editions so you can stand out without the fear of someone turning up in the same frock as you.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our Goal is to become the leading brand in Women's Fast Fashion in Nigeria,committed to treating our customers to the best of the Fashion world.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Being a new company, the answer is in the future.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would love to expand really quickly and increase the number of brick and mortar store we have got as well introduce other fashion catergories e.g Ready to wear African clothes as well as stock stock clothes from various Nigerian designers like Tiffany Amber.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
It will not be easy,but yes we have done alot of brain storming in the past and have a system in place that allows for expansion. we will welcome the expansion as this will create more room for employment and better the lot of our hard working employees.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The nigerian customs,the rules change every minute, and there is alot of uncertainty in the system, but there is a market and thats what we see,hurdles are every where,but we will overcome by God's grace.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Start up costand building a system.We opened the brick and mortar store alongside the website and since i was just coming out of school and had never worked,all the money came from doing odd jobs and my Fiance who has contributed immensely to this,He was just God sent,I must also add that mu parents also borrowed us money.Then i have a mentor who i have not met physically but has 50 years experience in retail he made all our softwares and taught me how to use Excel within a week,He was so dedicated to us that only God can reward him ,Thank you Ed.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Linking other websites and ofcourse listing our site on directories has been helpful too,but mainly its using terapad.com Amazing and very simple.Thanks Terapad.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Its a new website and i am pleased so far.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Its still early days but we will be around for a long time.
