Please give us a short summary of your website?
Sizta 2 Sizta Healthy Hair Care Co. was born out of pure frustration in the inability of black women to grow and maintain long healthy hair. S2S helps women grow and maintain long hair via re-education and superior products that are custom blended.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
As a child and into my adult hood I desired to have long hair without the addition of fake hair (weaves) so I started out researching and just playing around for myself not knowing that I had stubble up on something that worked. I starting mixing products at home and it just turned into a passion to help other black women with the same desire but because of lack of knowledge didn't know how to go about reaching long healthy hair.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I was launched in 2004 and I started selling officially online in 2005 the site is the same sizta2sizta.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name came about just from me being one sizta wanting to help another sizta or siztas. Thereby sizta 2 sizta
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
There is an over saturation of black hair care products and many of them claiming miracles that they can't back up. However, there wasn't any clear understand what black women needed to obtain longer hair. There was always this myth that black women could not grow long hair and we simply bought into it but it's not true.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
This year my sales were up 500% from 2006 and my goal is have the best custom blended hair care products (superior to mass marketed products) and sell them at reasonable prices. To spread the word that "Black women can grow and maintain long hair" I would like to see us gain this knowledge and pass it on to our daughters and start a new legacy of black women and girls of all having long hair is they so desire.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It's hard because I went from working full time job to part time to only doing the business full time in 2008. I'm fully invested and run the business out my home, I have a teen and a 2 year old so I'm not to good at balancing yet. The business being new consumes so much of my time but I understand that it takes time, and commitment to get a business going and when you love what you do, you can't stay away.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would change a few things like marketing and some packaging but new product development
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
That's a good questions, I guess I would hire my friends and family members but I'm not sure about out source because quality is very important to me.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The cost of doing business is tremendous, running out of stock all of the time because I'm so tired and busy that I forgot to order or not being about to order in large quantities to enable me to get better pricing.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I am the queen of free and cheap advertising via other related sites or free links and I optimized my site which really changed my ranking, so I'm hoping that will gain me more exposure
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
well, it's hard because I have more than just a site I have a product and I'm a one person operation so I didn't know it would be so time consuming.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
