An easy to use site where top brand names in hair & beauty can be purchased at discounted prices
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We currently have our own Hair & Beauty Salons in 3 counties, and saw the opportunity to diversify into the electronic market.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is HSM's first launch which happened in December 2007, so we are still new to this.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our Salons are called Hairspace Strand Management. It was logical to use an abbreviation.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Because we have the back-up of trained Hair Stylists & Beauticians, who have all been trained to high standards, we can answer any queries with true knowledge and experience, rather than relying on manufacturers literature
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To grow the business, and eventually introduce more products so that it becomes a one shop stop.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The hardest part of starting any venture is the time in preparation. Launching a web site is no different. However, because more time & effort was put in at the very beginning, the results are better than expected for first 6 months.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Get someone else to do the input!!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. We are fortunate that we deal directly with the top brand manufacturers because of the size of our Salons. Consequently we have stock in salon that we can call upon, as well as prompt delivery from most manufacturers.
