A fashion blog that focuses on your personal style.
Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?
I wanted to make a generally helpful blog for people to discover and supplement their own personal style.
What blogging platform do you do and why?
I just switched to using wordpress. It is much simpler to administrate than the custom python-django system I was using previously.
What do you blog the most about?
I blog a lot about the personal outfits people create with their own clothing at http://fashionmash.com .
What kind of blogs make you angry?
I'm tired of the blogs that are all about the tiny perfect model wearing expensive things that are out of the average woman's reach. I like blogs about real women expressing real style.
Give five of your best blogging tips.
1. Stay fresh by reading. Keep up-to-date on what is happening in your genre. I use google reader to rss subscribe to many blogs, so I always have something interesting and new to read about everyday. 2. Comment. Interact with others in your blog area. Sometimes my blogs are an expansion of an idea I started in a comment. 3. Check out your audience. Only a percentage of visitors leave comments. Get a good stats program so you can see which blog posts are the most visited. I use http://www.quantcast.com/ 4. Credit your sources, and tell them about it. Drop a note to someone you have linked to or quoted in a blog entry and give them its URL. You'd be surprised at how many people then return the favor and include you on their website. 5. Gather the links you use on various topics over the course of time & repost them as a collection every now & then for people that missed them the first time.

I just started adding affiliate images to this blog. It is not making money yet.

Yes, I use google reader to follow about 75 blogs each day.
Do you use Digg, and why or why not?
Yes, I use digg from time to time. I like bookmarking things sometimes.
Do you use Stumbleupon, and why or why not?
I use Stumbleupon a lot more than digg. I just like the interface.
What promotional techniques work best for you and why?
I've found that getting listings in blog directories helps get things started. And I also comment on other blogs in my genre.
If you could post a blog on any blog in the world, which one would it be and why?
The Budget Fashionista. I think she's great and I'd love her readers to come visit my site.
What mistakes have you made that you could warn others about?
I learned that if you want another blogger to review your blog or link to you, it is important to build a relationship with them first. Follow their site daily and leave thoughtful comments.

Have you met anyone offline as a result of your blog?
No, but I have met people interested in fashion from other social networking community sites.
